At East Liverpool Elks Lodge #258, the bar stools fill up fast and the bartenders know your name faster. Rated 4.7 stars by the community, this lodge has earned that reputation the hard way: by showing up every single year with Secret Santa gifts for local families in need, throwing the best Christmas event in the Ohio Valley, and keeping their bathrooms cleaner than most restaurants downtown. That last detail might sound small, but regulars mention it unprompted because it speaks to something bigger: this place is run with genuine pride.

Situated at 620 Broadway Street in East Liverpool, Lodge #258 is part of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, a fraternal organization founded nationally in 1868. But the people here will tell you the national history matters far less than what happens at the local level: the members who coordinate school gift programs, the summer cookouts that draw the whole neighborhood, and the volunteers who show up without being asked.

This is not a dusty civic hall collecting cobwebs between meetings. It is an active, breathing community hub where you can grab a cold drink on a Tuesday, celebrate a milestone on a Saturday, and drop off donations for a family you have never met on a Monday. The members are selfless in a way that is hard to fake and impossible to manufacture.

What We Offer

The lodge offers a full-service members bar with cold drafts, cocktails, and a welcoming atmosphere that visitors consistently describe as warm and unpretentious. Stop in after work or during a visit to East Liverpool and you will find genuinely friendly staff and a crowd that treats strangers like regulars.

Beyond the bar, Lodge #258 hosts a calendar of community events that punch well above the weight of a small Ohio city. The annual Christmas charity event coordinates Secret Santa gifts for local children selected through area schools, and summer gatherings bring members and guests together for seasonal celebrations with food and fellowship. The indoor facilities are spacious, well-maintained, and available for private events and lodge functions.

Membership in the Elks opens doors to a national network of over 800,000 members while keeping your roots planted firmly in East Liverpool. Members participate in charitable giving, community service projects, and social programming year-round. Whether you are considering joining or simply looking for a welcoming place to gather, Lodge #258 is worth walking through the door.

"So, Christmas is here and they decide to once again do secret Santa for family in need, so my child was picked through the school. While it was chaos I never in my wildest dreams have I ever thought people would act a fool. Apparently following instructions was something that the older generation wasn't taught let alone respect for your elders. I have never witnessed a child buck up at a grown man let alone hit a woman. You all should be ashamed of yourself and the staff who did this do better, I will make sure all the schools know about this incident, all organizations, schools and even your state commander this is disgusting and absolutely something that should never have happened. Multiple people including myself turned in the ticket because I refuse to allow my child to accept anything from an organization that stands on violence..."

"The Elks is a great place to stop by for a beer if you’re ever in town. Such nice people, awesome bar tenders, and a great space to hang out. They have some of the cleanest bathrooms in downtown East Liverpool, and an amazing space in the back to host events and parties. They just redid the bar (pictures sadly not included) which really livened up the space! The Elks does such amazing work for its community, so even if a nice drink with some nice people isn’t your thing, it’s a great place to consider donating to or becoming involved with. If you find yourself at Elks Lodge 258, make sure to ask for Stub and buy him a beer. He’s one of the greatest guys in the world and he’s sure to give you a warm welcome."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
